SSL and Domain Prices

Please see below an update on the pricing of our SSL Certificates and Domains.

SSL Certificates

Many website browsers display messages for websites that do not have an SSL Certificate about it not being secure. This is part of the aim by Google and many of the web browsers to transform the Internet so that every web page is connected securely. When a site has an SSL Certificate it means that all connections between your computer and the website are encrypted, ensuring that no one else can see that information.

This means that people can submit contact forms securely without their details being seen by anyone else.

Once an SSL Certificate has been installed on your church website, visitors to your site will view your website over an encrypted connection using https. Depending on the browser that your website visitor uses, they may also see a 'Secure' message next to the web address as shown in the image above.

Following our roll out of SSL Certificate functionality a year ago, we've been able to reduce the cost for SSL Certificates. When we released SSL Certificates the price was £35 for the setup and first year of the SSL Certificate. At the time we said we hoped to reduce the price for subsequent years to below £20.

We are pleased to say that as of today all new SSL Certificates and 2nd year Renewals will be priced at £15pa including VAT (reduced from £35). If you do not have an SSL Certificate for your church website address then you can order one through the Church Edit Global Office at the new lower price. The new pricing takes affect from today, 11th July 2019.

Domain Prices

The prices for UK domains have increased to £18 (increase from £16). This price includes VAT and is for a 2 year renewal.

The prices for .org/ .com domains have increased to £18 (increase from £16). This price includes VAT and is for a 1 year renewal.

The domain price changes will come into affect in September 2019.

Non Direct Debit Admin Charge

For any legacy customers who have not yet setup a Direct Debit then the admin fee for non direct debit payments will increase to £30 from September.  Setting up a Direct Debit is simple and free to do.  Direct Debit helps us to keep our prices lower by reducing the admin associated with payments.
